I require all of my private oboe students to establish strong fundamentals on the instrument before proceeding to any major solo repertoire. This includes a range of skills, from learning all major and minor scales, to establishing a proper embouchure and air control. I also aim to include music theory concepts in all of my lessons, in order to encourage each of my students on their path to complete musicianship.
